Velvet Spice Sangria
Ingredients:
1 bottle of dry red wine (like Merlot, or Cabernet Sauvignon)
1/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Triple Sec or Cointreau)
1/4 cup homemade cinnamon syrup
1 orange - thinly sliced
1 apple - cored and thinly sliced
1/2 cup fresh cranberries or pomegranate seeds (optional, for garnish)
Cinnamon sticks (optional, for garnish)
1–2 cups sparkling water or soda water (optional, for a little bit of bubbles)
To make:
In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and the cinnamon syrup. Stir to combine. Add the sliced orange, apple, and cranberries or pomegranate seeds (if using). Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (preferably overnight) to let the flavors do their thing. Before serving, taste and adjust sweetness by adding more cinnamon syrup if desired.
Serve over ice with a slice of orange or apple for garnish, and top with soda water if you prefer bubbles.
